At our 10/18/2023 meeting, we decided to send a letter to President Biden regarding the U.S. Government’s policy of Exporting American Jobs and Sale of American Crown Jewels to Pay For Consumer-Goods Imports.

This was the final step resulting from of our 9/20/2023 meeting on “Poverty, by America” by Prof. Matthew Desmond at which we reviewed our four campaigns re the causes of poverty –

At our 9/20/2023 meeting, we decided (the meeting report is available at viewtopic.php?f=760&t=2399&sid=5fb4a949 ... c8c71ca23d) --

(1) Campaigns No. 2 and No. 4 were still current in terms of content and, since they had been sent to Pres. Biden, did not require re-direction.

(2) Campaign No. 3 was still current but needed re-direction to Pres. Biden. That letter, with FedEx tracking number, is available at viewtopic.php?f=23&t=2401&sid=6e5a15757 ... 06316cd3cc.

(3) Campaign No. 1’s content probably needed revision re whether to recommend import tariffs or foreign-exchange controls -- pursuant to which we voted as our Focus Book for our 10/18/2023 meeting “No Trade Is Free” by Robert Lighthizer.

At our 10/18/2023 meeting, the decision was taken to revise our position on Exporting American Jobs to be based on import tariffs rather than foreign-exchange controls.
